Two quick hits before tonight’s exercise in soaring rhetoric/domestic terror/loosely sourced mob agitation.
First, over the weekend, Fox devoted an hour to dredging up and re-reporting discredited Obama is a terrorist rumors. And then they did themselves one better.
They went to Andy Martin – author of those secret moooslim chain emails – and let him tell them that Obama wasn’t really a community organizer in Chicago. That’s because he was “training for a radical overthrow of the government.” Natch. (Fox’s owner, Rupert Murdoch, is “not a Republican,” and believes that, “On many days The New York Times favors any story that might embarrass a Republican administration.”)
Secondly, Kennedy relays a Sarah Palin quote in which the VPILF calls the freedom of the press a “privilege.” He responds by quoting the Bill of Rights, but I think Times heir/Facebooking NYU drummer Alex Cohen might’ve hit this one more squarely.
