A Paper for Nothing

Steve Syre does some easy math and figures that, once the New York Times Co. has absorbed $200 million in Globe pension liabilities, the profit the Times will reap from a Globe sale “might be next to nothing.”

Jay Fitzgerald correctly notes that that prospect makes those old cash-out estimates look “quaintly high.”
